Nestadio Capital and Galia Gestion have just added funds to the capital stock of OUAT Entertainment.
Nestadio Capital (which belongs to the Investment Funds Society of Brittany) and Galia Gestion (investor in South West of France) have increased the capital stock of OUAT Entertainment of €1 million. Located in Angoulême, OUAT creates and produces offline & online video games dedicated to casual gamers (PC and consoles gamers). The goal of such a contribution to its capital stock is to help OUAT develop a social games’ platform dedicated to social networking sites such as Facebook.
Owned by Frédérique and Sébastien Doumic, the firm which now employs 40 people had a turnover of €2.2 million in 2008.
Since 2004, the SME has been producing mostly under license video games meant for kids and family: Kirikou, Totally Spies, Fort Boyard, C’est pas sorcier… Those games were released on CD-ROM, Nintendo DS, Wii and PS2.
For the last two years, OUAT has also been favouring online casual games that seduce women: mystery games.
Whereas the casual game market has been existing for a long time in the USA, it only begins to extend into Europe. Therefore OUAT’s current strategy is to create online games for social networks and mobile phones (iPhone, Androïd…).
In order to gather such a market where there are more than 10 million active users OUAT has decided to invest in a distribution platform that will create generic tools usable on different projects. Another goal is to put some of their new games into social networks with an easy way of distributing them…
Florent de Kersauson (Chief Executive Officer of Investment Funds Society of Brittany) underlined the fact that “Such a record is typical in nowadays online gaming consumption”. “We are very glad to co-invest in OUAT with Galia Gestion. OUAT is our third investment in Poitou-Charentes.”
“OUAT is a creative firm with enough assets to become a reference on a rising market,” said Vincent Schifano, Chief Executive Officer of Galia Gestion.
